OPI is one of the most popular nail polish brands among teens, and their holiday collection this year features an Advent calendar fun mini size Hello Kitty-inspired colors and a few beloved classics, too. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It gets top marks for full-on flavour but at the cost of masking what makes a Twix a Twix. I like the fact it's a novel twist on the classic Twix bar, and I like the bold flavours. But it masks the carefully balanced caramel-biscuit-chocolate harmony of an original Twix bar. What does it taste like? It's Christmasy. It's the classic combination of festive spices and so this tastes like most things that are Christmas spiced, albeit in a Twix format. It's still as easy to eat as a classic Twix bar and you'll find yourself polishing off the two fingers in a heartbeat. Nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon linger in the aftertaste for a while.

Hogwarts is a special place throughout the year, but it was particularly magical at Christmas. The characters are all dressed for the Yule Ball. This fun calendar is great for wizards and muggles of all ages.

Join in the fun with this Advent calendar that contains 24 minifigures that you can create from the 280 pieces, including Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Naboo Starfighter, and Poe’s X-wing as well as festive-themed porg and Gonk Droids. It’s great for ages 6 and up, and we can think of several adults who would love to have this, too. Not that long ago, there would have been no point drawing up a guide to the best chocolate advent calendars, since that was the only kind. But these days there are beauty advent calendars, beer and wine advent calendars, book, toy and candle advent calendars and food advent calendars of every kind imaginable, from cheese to marshmallows. It’s almost too much choice. What if next door are opening a far better advent calendar than you? The heady spices sit front and centre, which ought to be a good thing as some festive products only have the subtlest hint of spicing. However, the spices used here drown out the flavours of the caramel and the chocolate. Chocolate lovers and Anglophiles will delight at this delicious collection from the UK. Those who have been to Europe will be happy to see some Cadbury favorites again. If you’re not familiar, it’s really fun to discover these new treats. My only disappointment is that it doesn’t appear that any Flake bars are included. (I still miss them after studying in London, cough, 20+ years ago.)
