I love the idea of using cards with a book, I might look into PECS as my toddler has a slight speech delay. At home we used to make the animal sounds to match and depending on your group size, you can try that at school. You turn the music on for half a minute or so and then they all lie down asleep, ready to be turned into another animal. I trawled online and an outfit in particular jumped out at me from the book Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell, there were no others like it. The books are wonderful, interactive in a variety of ways, are inclusive/diverse with a variety of subjects.
