It's a pet project both to have a piece of nostalgia that I myself created as well as a challenge to build my modeling skillset; nothing more, nothing less than a simple pet project. The cab steps are mounted on the valences instead of under the footplate. Strangely, his prototype model did not have this problem. The narrow gauge van's roofs were most likely originally painted grey but were later changed to white as evidenced by the fact that the underside of the roofs is painted grey and visibly painted white on top afterwards. This change is also likely since the roofs are slightly darker than the Peco models' roofs as a result of being repainted.Bachmann models were used as references for the Percy, James, Gordon and Emily replicas at Thomas Land US.

Donald and Douglas share the same facial expression moulding, but with differently painted eyebrows.In close-up shots, the large scale Thomas is used (albeit with the face altered to resemble the HO one for consistency). Spencer's footplate flattens out at the cab, unlike his television series model which keeps going at a slope. His boiler is also too thin. S.C. Ruffey's HO model's frames are grey instead of rusty orange. This was corrected on his large scale, and N scale models. Currently, Thomas, James, Diesel, and Rosie are the only HO scale engines with more than one variant. In fact I'd recommend doing this with all of the Bachmann versions of the classic Thomas cast (the ones that appeared in the books that is) bar Toby and Edward. The Hornby ones are very flawed but the face sculpts are all very good...with the exception of gormless Hornby Toby and the Hornby Edward which while good (unlike the rest of the model...), the Bachmann Edward face is spot on with the exception of the crow's feet at the corners of his eyes. In fact Bachmann Edward is near spot on in general.

Bachmann’s Scenecraft range is boosted with more than a dozen new N scale models, whilst in OO scale several popular products return including the Two Lane Engine Shed, Depot Water Tower and Art Deco Signal Box, alongside a selection of new items. E-Z Command Plus – a new entry-point for DCC I have seen 1915 as Thomas's building date so with heavy general overhauls at 10 year or less intervals there can have been little original left by the 1950s when Rev Awdrey wrote about him. I suspect he was mistaken for an E2 because of his extended tanks and stylish drooping front frames, but clearly he was a much smaller engine.
